We had such a great weekend! We had free tickets from Joe's works to go see a double header for the Hawaii Pro Football League.
We were going to try to make it to both games, but Joe ended up having to work, so we missed the first one. We caught the second game and had a great time. We arrived in time for the singing of the Hawaii National Anthem, which was really neat. We scooped up a Chili and Rice bowl for me and an incredibly messy Chili-dog for the Mr. It's not a football game without concession stand food.
The game was not that exciting, at half-time the score was 0-0 and the refs were calling so many penalties, it was unbelievable. It was fun to watch, though.
Us, at the game. I was wearing a sweat-shirt. It wasn't even that cold but to me, it didn't feel like a football game without the sweat-shirt. The half-time show was really neat - it was a hula group. One girl got so hula-crazy, she shimmied right out of her grass skirt - don't worry she had a black skirt on underneath, thank goodness!
On Sunday, we went to see two of Joe's co-workers compete in the Mrs. Hawaii Pageant.
We had a great time getting all dressed up! I spent a lot of time on my hair, and was pretty pleased with how it turned out!
Everyone looked so great, it was hard to tell who would win! We were rooting for the girl in the blue dress! His other co-worker, ,is the tall lady to the right of the girl in blue - she ended up taking second runner-up.
Meet Mrs. Hawaii 2011:
All in all in was such a great (though really late) night! The pageant ended up starting almost an hour late due to extremely bad traffic (they closed the road that the hotel was on, it was chaos), so therefore it ended late but we had a wonderful time!
Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments regarding me training to be a CNA. It was quite the process to get there, but I'm really excited to be doing something I love. I was an EMT in college and to this day have no clue why I didn't major in something in the medical field, since I loved my EMT experience so much. I'm excited to be getting back into it. Thanks for the encouragement, friends!
Happy Monday!

Glad you guys had a good weekend. Sounds like it was tons of fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your weekend was good - I got worried about the possible tsunami effects in Hawaii! Everything's okay where you are?
