I'm a little late to the game but I'm going to try to update every week. I'm tired of trying to rack my brain in attempt to remember what happened over the course of this pregnancy.
How far along: I’m due Oct 29, so I’m 20 weeks! Hard to believe, I’m halfway through. The time sure has flown by!
Size of Baby: Baby should be about the size of a banana & has been squirming away! I first felt it move at the end of 16 weeks but it has been getting stronger and stronger!
Gender: We don’t know yet. We’ve been going back and forth about whether or not we should find out but I can’t make up my mind. I’m so indecisive.
Sleep: I’ve been having a bit of a hard time falling asleep but that could be due to the fact that I haven’t been as active since I’ve been on bedrest. I’ve also been waking up a lot more frequently as nature seems to call a lot more often these days. I usually am awake around 4:00 am and the baby is always really active. It’s really neat to feel!
Weight Gain: I’m up to a 4 lb gain as of my last appointment (last Tuesday). Doctor was pretty pleased!
Pregnancy Clothes: One of my dear friends sent some maternity clothes which has been SO nice! I needed some more to help supplement, so I picked up some great finds on Craigslist this past week. I’ve mainly been wearing maternity tops – my jeans/pants fit fine. I did wear a pair of maternity pants for the first time yesterday (the pants I have on in the above pic) and I loved them, so comfy! I also bought two maternity dresses at Target (on sale J) for church – can’t wait to wear them! Movement: We have a squirmer! This kiddo moves all the time, it is so cool! Joe has even been able to feel it once or twice when I really get jabbed!
Pregnancy Symptoms: All in all I feel better good! The biggest adjustment has been getting used to the belly!
Food Cravings: This week I really wanted seafood. I’ve also had a hankering for peanut butter cookies and ice cream but that is not new (or exclusive to my pregnancy).
What I miss: My clothes fitting properly
What I am looking forward to: Picking out stuff for the baby registry. It is overwhelming for me as it seems like there is so much stuff that one needs for a little baby but I’m having fun checking out all the cool stuff that’s out there.
Weekly Wisdom: The time is already flying by and we’ll meet Baby C before we know it. I have been trying to slow down & really enjoy the process. There’s 140 days left (if baby comes on his/her due date), so I’ve been trying to read a Psalm a day as a count down & an effort to keep my focus where it should be.
Best moment this week: It’s a long story but our neighbor & Joe thought that my neighbor’s car got stolen yesterday. After filing with the MPs and the Honolulu Police Department, he and Joe got home and told me the story. I was confused & said I thought they had met up at church – that’s when they realized the stolen car was actually at church and hadn’t been stolen at all. They had to inform the police and MPs in person in order to cancel the police report. The police were going to do this big investigation because they thought it was a prank but when I wandered up and asked how long it was going to be, they let the guys go. So my pregnant self saved those guys, not once but twice yesterday!
Milestones: First time in maternity pants! Won’t be the last…
