Friday we went to dinner, nothing fancy just Wendy's and watched "No Strings Attached". We had a gift card so the movie only ended up costing $5 for the two of us - can't beat that! Saturday, we didn't do anything fancy, just went "window" shopping to get out of the house. Joe ended up commenting that he was proud that we went to so many stores and didn't spend any money. He said that right before we went to the last store, where guess what - we spent some $$. We finished up the evening by doing a little Geo-caching. The very first cache we were trying to find, ended up being on Federal Property, which a police officer was kindly informed us - whoops! Oh well, we ended up having a great time finding some other caches near our house!
Sunday, was more eventful than Friday and Saturday. Joe and I (and our neighbor) got all ready to go to church and headed over in his Volvo. We were driving down the road when the car started acting really weird. We were really apprehensive about getting on the highway with it acting funny, so we turned around. Thank goodness we did because it ended up dying! Lo and behold, we ran out of gas - turns out the gas gauge is broken! I've never had this happen but now I know what a car sounds like right before it runs out of gas! The boys pushed it while I steered but eventually it got too difficult so we had to leave it on the side of the road and walk home. Fortunately we weren't too far away but by the time we walked back, got our car, got gas, drove back to fill up the Volvo and headed home, we all would have needed showers before heading to church, super late. We were going to go hiking after church, but since we were all sweaty and dusty, we decided against going to church late and just went hiking instead. Of course by this time it was raining but we really wanted to go hiking so we packed up and went. The trail was muddy but it actually wasn't too bad. It stopped raining about ten minutes in & we really enjoyed the 5 mile hike on one of my favorite trails. We ended up doing a little Geo-caching too but we only found 5 of the 8 caches on the trail so we will definitely be going back for the others! All in all, it was a great weekend!
