An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow. ~Author Unknown

It's hard to believe that a year has gone by so quickly! I feel like I say that a lot but it is so true! We rung in the New Year by watching the pineapple drop online and the fireworks from our bedroom window. Yesterday, Joe and I celebrated one year of wedded bliss! It was a great day - we had a lot of well-wishers on Facebook and texts and it was so nice of everyone to think of us on our special day! Joe's parents sent us a gorgeous flower arrangement, it was so beautiful! Last year, Joe's dad, affectionately called "Tuck" surprised me by showing up to our wedding. I didn't think he was going to be able to make it but lo and behold he made it happen. It was so thoughtful and such a wonderful surprise! Anyway, back to yesterday's celebration. We hung out at home in the morning, went to lunch
(it was hard finding a place open on New Years Day so we had to settle for Wendy's which was actually really good), shopped at Borders
(got a new Bible - what a great "paper" gift as is traditionally given on a first year anniversary), then we went to dinner at Ryan's in downtown Honolulu. We had a $100 gift card that Joe won from work and we were super excited to use it for our anniversary. Try as we might, we were unable to spend the entire amount! We got an appetizer of sweet potato fries, Joe had a full rack of ribs for dinner and I had a steak. We were both so full from dinner that we passed on dessert but our incredibly kind waiter brought us a creme brulee to celebrate! It was such a great day - we enjoyed just being with each other - reflecting on the past year and looking forward to what is to come!
Happy belated anniversary! Wishing you many, many more years of love and happiness :)
