Fun in San Diego

I've had a lot of opportunities recently to hang out with some of my girlfriends from back home. In September, I went to San Francisco to ride cable cars with my friends Meg and Alicia. Jenn came to visit a few weeks back and we had an awesome time! This past weekend I met up with Beth in San Diego and it was a lot of fun!

The first day, we rented a car and drove up the coast of California to Laguna Beach. It was pretty and the water wasn't too cold! On our way to Laguna, we passed through Dana Point, where my roommate from Spain lives. It's a shame I didn't figure this out prior, it would have been cool to see her. That night we had dinner at the Rockin' Baja in Old Town where we ate some awesome Lobster Bisque and shrimp. We then stayed up way to late talking and watching tv.

The second day, we just took it easy. Started off the day with a trip to Jamba Juice :) and a drive around Old Town in the daylight. We also drove to Coronado, a super cute island near San Diego. The houses were stunning and all so different - I later found out it is one of the most affluent areas in the US - that would definitely explain some things! The rest of the day was spent lounging by the pool and hot tub and watching the Steelers dominate! There was also a wedding at our hotel (Bahia) and it was so cool to watch because it was an Indian wedding. The groom rode in on a white horse and the bride worn a beautiful gown and had henna. It was all really neat.

The third day, we met up with Beth's coworker who had lived in San Diego. He took us to La Jolla and we had a great time checking out the beaches and boutiques in the town.

Us in La Jolla on a beach that had a lot of seals. They were so cute and funny to watch!

After our trip to La Jolla, we decided to eat at the Boathouse in Coronado. I was so excited to go back to this island. After dinner, we explored the famed Hotel del Coronada. It was so beautiful and I would love to go back someday! Several movies have been filmed there, including "Some like it Hot" with Marilyn Monroe. It is a beachfront luxury hotel and is one of the largest and all wood structures in California. It is stunning!

We had such a great time and it was so nice to be able to spend time with Beth!

The view of the Bay from our hotel.

If our guest room is any evidence, I think Joe had a great time while I was gone.
Note: This is not what it looked like (at all) when I left. He rearranged the furniture and added some "curtains" to promote optimal X-Box playing conditions. Silly boy.
