One Sunday a few weekend agos, we met up with some of Joe's coworkers to go hiking to Makapuu Lighthouse. At first it was just us and Neddah T (I'll use his nickname, lol) but as the hike went on, we met up with several others that Joe and Neddah knew. The hike was super easy which was great because it was super hot. It was a nice paved trail with gorgeous views and a nice ocean-side breeze - perfect! We couldn't actually hike to the lighthouse as that part of the trail was closed off, but it was still fun!

We even ran into a rock climber - ummm is he crazy?!? That's a long way down and I don't see anything but rocks and ocean....

This is as close to the edge as I would go...it was a very long way down!

So on the way back, Joe and Neddah decided to hike back down the mountain, not the way we came up but down the other side of the mountain. As in straight down the mountain where there was NO trail! The picture above is what it looked like, needless to say it was not easy by any stretch of the imagination! The picture below is me at the bottom of the hike - we hiked down the side of the mountain on the right - I guess that's what I get for hiking with two army guys! Lesson learned!
