This guy sure did make himself at home while he was here. It's ok though, he was so cute, I didn't mind! When Joe got home from work and saw the dog still in our yard, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He took the dog to the SPCA nearby where he found out the dog was micro-chipped but alas they couldn't give us the owner's information but the Honolulu Humane Society could. Joe called and it turns out the dog was registered to the SPCA!! So back to the SPCA they went! They were able to find the information on the actual owner who lives one street away from us! So, it all worked out in the end! Owner and dog were happily reunited! After talking with the owner it turns out that this poor dog was previously abused (what I thought was a skin condition on his leg was actually a rope burn from where the former owners had him tied) and has severe separation anxiety. He got so worked up when his owner left that he broke from his collar and lead and made his way to our house. The poor thing! He was super cute and I'm glad to know he has a happy home in our neighborhood! Maybe that will mean I get to see him again!
Please, please get your animals micro-chipped and keep the information up-to-date, for your pets sake!
awwwww, i'm still sad you didn't get to keep him. but i know when my Kosmo made a break for it, i was SOOOO grateful the people who found him were honest and called me right away. i hope Frank Sinatra was glad to go back home!
