Poor thing. No collar, dirty, thorns and burrs stuck to him. I tried to rescue him from the road, it took a little convincing but eventually he got out of the road and came to me. I managed to get him in the backyard -there may or may not have been some Turkey Bacon involved ;). He seems to be pretty content there and hopefully he stays there until Animal Control comes and picks him up. They said they only had evening appointments available and would pick him up before 10 pm....what??? I really hope he stays in the yard, I would hate to see something bad happen to him. I'm trying not to get attached, I already think he's cute and I kind of wouldn't be mad if he stuck around.... but alas the last thing I need is a dog.

My new friend
This morning, I frantically was grabbing the trash as I could hear the trash truck roaring down the street. I threw it in the big bin outside and was about the wheel it to the curb when I noticed this guy running in the road:

Oh and I missed the trash man because of this guy but it's ok, they'll be back next week.

He's adorable! A few months ago, I had a gorgeous, well-trained, house broken lab follow me home. I decided to "keep" her while I put up posters and looked for her owners. In our city, if you keep an animal for two weeks and no one claims the animal, then you can legally keep it. I got so attached to her and was excited when the two-week period was over. On the last day of that two week period, the owners contacted me. =( I was so sad.
ReplyDeleteAww! I could not have called Animal Control!!! That puppy would have been mine, lol! But, Joe has informed me that I'm not allowed to get a puppy before Jasper gets here AND not until he comes back from deployment.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I had a random dog show up in my yard a week and a bit ago. Seriously, I opened the gate after being gone all day, and two dogs ran out! She was a sweety and my puppy liked her, but we can't have another dog (she had a collar, I'm sure she had owners), so I brought her to the MP station.
ReplyDeleteso cute! I want a dog! If a dog just happened to show up, I'm pretty sure I couldn't get rid of it! :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter needs a dog, and that dog looks really cute *hint*hint* lol. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Oh yeah, we need to celebrate our unintended lives as army wives...hopefully, you will join in!
