Mother's Day Weekend

Our good friend had been deployed for several months and he arrived back on island on Saturday. He is one of Joe's closest friends on the island and we missed him a lot. We had a great time hanging out - eating lunch at Ruby Tuesdays and the seeing the Avengers (in 3D). It was fun to see the boys back together - they are hilarious and always end up getting into something.
Sunday we celebrated with a BBQ. Joe brought me a bunch of colorful flowers and a book.
We then celebrated at the mall with my favorite thing, ice cream! It is so hard to find good ice cream in Hawaii. We were walking around the mall when I spotted two girls with perfect ice cream cones. I found the ice cream stand & promptly ordered a two-scoop. It was by far the largest two-scoop ice cream I have ever seen - it was probably 16 scoops, it was huge & took me 3 days to finish - so worth the $2.50 price tag!
Peanut butter and mint chocolate chip - random but that's what baby wanted! ;)

A great way to end my first mother's day weekend!
