John, Hannah and I ....my kitchen and possibly even my marriage! That's quite a statement but probably not too far off! Ha ha.
Just so everyone is aware this wasn't the first time my brother saved my life and it probably won't be the last either. To make a long story short, the dog we've been dog-sitting has been keeping us up at night. We've all (Joe, me and the dog probably moreso me) have all been super cranky, whiny, and just plain tired. It's been wearing on us, big time. I was talking to my bro yesterday and he was like "why don't you put her in a crate?" Ding Dong! The idea was ingenious - good job bro
( i love that kid!!) So last night we dug out the crate we had from our dog and put Denali's bed in it. She loved it, we loved it and we all slept amazing! I slept so well that I even got up at 4:45 and started cleaning my kitchen. It was long overdue for a good cleaning, and that's putting it mildly (sad but true)! I was in such a great mood when I woke up, all thanks to a good nights sleep! Amazing what a little rest can do for a person!
In other news, Joe and I went hiking this past weekend, it was absolutely awesome! I'll admit, it was originally a ploy to try to wear Denali out so she'd sleep at night. It was supposed to be a relatively easy 4.5 mile hike but of course we veered off-trail and went the path less traveled (literally). It was a tough hike in places as it was pretty steep but it lead to a waterfall and the views on the hike were amazing! I was pretty sore when we got home and covered in Mosquito bites
(note: if you ever see the words waterfall and hike together - take bug spray cause there is a pretty high probability that there will be biting bugs!) but all in all it was well worth it!
Me at the beginning of the hike - def didn't look like this at the end! I was muddy and my hair was a mess thanks to all the humidity and the little bit of rain.
A gorgeous view! This is before we left the trail...
Joe and Denali once we found the Waterfall. If it doesn't look stunning in the picture, that's well because it wasn't. More like a trickle rather then a waterfall but oh well who cares - it was water and it was falling.
Lol! Waterfall+hike=take bug spray, got it. =) I'll keep that in mind!
ReplyDeleteI hiked to what was supposed to be a waterfall once in AR. We got there (after like 3 miles...uh, ouch) and there was no water at all. I felt seriously cheated.
Brothers are AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are sleeping...and smiling again!
If you're bored in the middle of the night ~ I've got some extra chores (trying to sell my house).... we can work side by side!
Alright, to bed for me!
Glad you had a nice hike, looks relaxing and your brother sounds sweet, glad he is there for you!
ReplyDelete4:45? WOW. You were feeling good!!
