The waiting game

** Warning, this is a super long post! I'm stuck waiting and so I have nothing but time to write **

I never would have guessed that I would have gone past my Oct 28 due date! I took it easy the past week and have just been trying to rest and relax and prepare for our little one's arrival. I have been having light & infrequent contractions on and off. I actually went and had an NST on Monday as baby was pretty sluggish and was surprised to find out I was having consistent contractions every 2-3 minutes! But alas, here we are 8 days past her date and no baby! It's ok though, it's all in the Lord's timing and I'll savor all the kicks and movements I can! I have loved being pregnant and know that I will miss it but I am awfully excited to meet her!
Friday, I went and got my nails done - I wasn't going to but they were in desperate need of attention. The girl I had was super sweet - a fellow military wife and it was great chatting with her. I ended up getting a 20% discount - not sure why but I wasn't complaining!

In an effort to try to help induce labor, Joe and I ate Mexican food 3 nights in a row! This picture was taken Saturday night, where we tried El Charro, a Mexican restaurant near our house. There was a bit of a wait and we were finally called along with another couple. Our tables ended up being an inch apart & we got to talking. He was from Upstate New York & she was super nice. We had a great time chatting it up with our new friends - such a good time, I barely remember eating! As we were getting ready to leave, she told me to come to her car & gave me a huge box of toys/puzzles/random stuff. Her husband told me that she has been driving around for months with all that stuff in the back of her car - they were going to donate it but hadn't had a chance and were so excited to give it to us - they were so generous!
Sunday Joe and I went to breakfast at one of my favorite places on islands, Cinnamons! As usual, it was really good! Joe's goal for the day was to keep me on my feet as much as possible- we did a lot of walking. After a quick trip to Wal-mart for some returns & pick up a few last minute things, we went to the pool. At the pool, I did a lot of hopping, jumping and walking in the water to try to induce labor. I ended up wearing myself out & at out last stop (the commissary) gave up after seeing the humongous line & went home to rest. We enjoyed watching some Friday Night Lights before turning in for the evening.
We were supposed to be induced this morning & were told to call at 7 am for more information. I called & they said they had several rooms opening up & would call us to come in, probably around 9 am or so.  I got to work packing my bag (yes I know, I am a procrastinator) - I had some things together & list of things I wanted to pack - it just wasn't all in one place until this morning! I absolutely love the Hospital Survival Kit courtesy of my brother & future Sister! It was the cutest idea & I think it will be super handy! I finally heard back around 11:30 - the nurse said they had a rush but I was next on the list, so probably around mid- afternoon, I could be admitted. At 2:15 the nurse called to let me know it probably won't be until this evening or tomorrow morning as they got slammed in Labor and Delivery. She asked if we could be flexible - they might even end up calling us in the middle of the night, depending on availability! I'm not too surprised, as our childbirth class was huge and we were all slated to deliver around the same time!

So my bags are packed, nails done, cameras, cell phones charged and ready to go! We can't wait to bring our little pumpkin home!
