October fun!

Well October came and went! This month has been extremely busy - I can't believe we're on the last day of October! In a desperate attempt to make it feel like fall when it's 85 degrees, I've been burning my Cinnamon-Pecan candle (it's over halfway gone) and I even stopped by Goodwill and found some cute pumpkin candy dishes. That's about the extent of fall here since we have barely been around the house to enjoy it.
Here's what we've been up to:
(1) We started off the month my seeing the movie Courageous with G.I. Joe's Wife and Mr. G.I. Joe himself. It was such a great movie, I encourage you to go see it! It was awesome and such an inspiring message!
(2) I started taking a Phlebotomy class (blood drawing) for work, two nights a week. It has been nerve-wrecking and slightly stressful. It added a lot to my already busy schedule for the month but I have learned so much & I'm excited to get my Phlebotomy certificate! There will be a picture to come, promise!
(3) I busted up my elbow walking to neighbor's dog. It was pretty sore & I could move it, so I didn't think much of it until I started running a fever & getting sick. On my 1/2 day off from work, I went to the Dr and was sent immediately to the hospital for X-rays and a lovely visit to the ER. My elbow swelled to the size of a softball extremely fast. They said I was lucky, if I had waited even one more day, I would have been admitted to the hospital. Crazy! I never knew an infection could set in so fast. They put me on some heavy antibiotics and thankfully it is all better, now!

(4) My old roommate from Spain, Lauren, called me up to let me know that she was on Oahu. We were able to meet up and watch her Dad finish the 40 mile Moloka'i Hoe canoe race. It has been 6 years since we've seen each other and it was great to see her and catch up on what has been going on in our lives.

(5) My super awesome brother had a birthday! Wished more than anything that I could have been there to celebrate with him but I'm sure he had a good time anyway. :)
(6) Joe, knowing I had a particularly stressful week, met me at the door one night with candy, a bowl of ice cream, some lovely flowers and the sweetest card! It was so thoughtful of him! He always goes out of his way to think of such thoughtful things to make my life a little easier. I think he's a keeper!

(7) We started going to a new church a few weeks ago and love it! We hosted a game night at our house for the Young Marrieds group. We played a lot of fun games and ate some good food. We had a lot of fun getting to know some of the other couples in the group and we already have plans to have another one next month!

(8) We took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch and it was awesome!

Happy Fall from Hawaii
It was pretty wild to go to a Pumpkin Patch that also had banana and mango trees. I wanted to go on a tractor ride after we picked up our Pumpkin, so we patiently waited. We were the last people they allowed on, and it was so packed! It was fun, we had a great day!

October has been fun, can't wait to see what November will bring!
