September happenings

Happy last weekend of September! Can't believe September is almost over and October will soon be upon us. It's been a busy last few weeks. So here's what's been happening in my neck of the woods:
(1)My birthday extended into a birthday month when I was showered with more sweet cards & some incredibly thoughtful gifts from dear friends on the mainland. Thanks friends for making me feel special!
(2) My friend Meg came to visit at the end of August/ beginning of September. We had a great time hitting up some local beaches, eating good food & shave ice, visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center and just hanging out! It was so awesome to have her here & it really boosted my spirits to have someone from home visiting.
(3) On the 17th, I headed on my first outer-island trip to support my friend Nancy as she ran her 5th Marathon! I had a lot of fun watching her daughter & cheering her on. It was an extremely tough course but she did a great job. We had fun exploring Maui, checking out the resort & eating at some amazing restaurants. Maui is gorgeous & I can't wait to go back!

(4) The tuesday after my Maui-Wowee weekend, I ended up back in Maui for an outer-island clinic for work. I was very worried about the trip but it turned out to be a great experience & I was able to get to know my coworkers a little better.
(5) Because I worked outer-island, I had a random Wednesday off & decided to make all my appointments on that day. Going to the doctor, dentist, car dealership all in one day was a little much but I was pampered at my last appointment, which was a local spa. I decided to be daring and change up my 'do. It has definitely taken some getting used to!
Hello Bangs!

(6) Joe and I have hardly seen each other the past week, so last night we decided to go out for a little dinner & a movie. We went to Ruby Tuesdays (I love their salmon) and saw Moneyball. I liked the movie & now it makes me want to watch baseball. Before the movie, we had so time so we stopped by Wal-mart (it seems no date night is complete without making a Target or Walmart stop) & picked up some candy. I must say the Hershey's drop candy is pretty amazing & is second in my book only to the Reese's Fastbreak. I was also pretty excited to find some extra-small petite scrubs - they are super hard to find on island so I can't wait to wear something new this week!

That's what we've been up to! Hope you are all well, friends!

  1. Wowee is right! Bangs!!!! You look adorable! Actually, I think it makes you look older for some reason (just a year or two =; )
Love you and can't wait to talk to you soon!
