Birthday shenanigans

Birthday flowers from my mini-church - it was a short arrangement - just like me! :)

Last weekend was my birthday and it was full of great memories and times of celebration! I had a 3 day weekend and started off the fun by seeing the movie The Help with my neighbor. I loved the book and had been looking forward to the movie - it was definitely good but I did enjoy the book more. Saturday was a "breakfast crawl" with the girls! It was such a fun time and we visited three breakfast places: Crepes Na Ko 'Oi (known for their crepes), Boots and Kimo's (known for Macadamia Nut pancakes), and Cinnamon's (famous for Red Velvet Pancakes). Cinnamon's was new to me & I loved their Kalua pork Eggs Benedict - it was so good, I went back this weekend!My husband surprised me with getting my car detailed for my birthday! They guy did an incredible job - it looked brand new when he was finished! It was so nice & even had that new car smell! We had plans to meet friends for dinner on Saturday night & little did I know, Joe had a little surprised cooked up! What was supposed to be dinner with two people turned into a super fun night of Karaoke with some friends from church. Joe organized the whole thing - rented a room, gathered the people, had decorations, food and even a birthday tiara - I was impressed! It was a blast -we sang until we were hoarse. I was completely surprised and had such an awesome time!
Sunday was spent skyping and talking with my family and recovering from all the karaoke! My parents sent me a beautiful necklace which I love!! Every time I wear it, I get at least one compliment on it - it really is unique! I got a fun game and another necklace from my brother & Hannah, the necklace matches my scrubs perfectly!

Even Milo got in on the birthday celebration with some birthday ribbon. He loved playing with it but not wearing it!

My co-workers, who I barely know, threw me a "Taco Tuesday" birthday lunch last week and gave me balloons this week - it made me feel so special! Friends and family sent birthday cards from all over the country & several friends wished me well on facebook. It was such a great day week and I have really been encouraged by all of the love and well wishes I received. Thanks so much everyone for making my day so special!
